“Flutes” - Hot Chip

Alright, so this new Hot Chip single is out there with an accompanying video, but… you might just want to listen to the song. The studio goes round and round - forcing myself not to rhyme. “Flutes” is nice listen, very soothing while slightly upbeat, and it gets us a little more excited for the June 12nd-slated In Our Heads. In an effort to mention all things Hot Chip, tour dates have been announced [link], as has a competition to win a signed “Flutes” 12” [link].

My moments of nostalgia pertaining to California are few and far between, but every so often there is something that makes me ache for the sun-soaked state I once saw as some pseudo utopian promise land.  This time, that ‘something’ comes in the form of new tour dates from an old favorite, X.  These pioneers of first-wave American punk have been lauded by many throughout the years, and deservedly so.  In the 30 years since the release of their breakout debut, Los Angeles, these CA natives have been churning out a collection of timeless punk gems that even the most jaded listener can appreciate.  If you are still chasing the dream out there on the west coast I implore you to make every effort to catch one of these tour dates because it may very well be your last opportunity.
