“Upon Viewing Oregon’s Landscape With the Flood of Detritus” - Titus Andronicus

This is much more appetizing news than an LDR video - if only I had been batted over the head with this bit first. Patrick Stickles decided to “#FUCKTHEBULLSHIT” and reinforce the love between Titus Andronicus and their fans, posting to the band’s Tumblr the Titus Andronicus LLC Mixtape Vol. 1, featuring demos, covers, knick-knacks, doo-dads, and, most importantly, the new single that we heard played on WMFU a while back. If you haven’t heard it, it wastes no time in starting off with a homey, endearing strum before promptly inundating you with a cacophony of vocals (and I mean that as a compliment - messy, gritty, and loud are synonymous with TA).

The rest of the mixtape is filled with gems as well. The following track, an “Arms Against Atrophy” demo dated 2005, is a gloriously raw, grainy take, and the “Riot Squad” cover is one I especially enjoy. It’s good, free material for all Titus Andronicus fans - definitely check it out. [link]
