“Genesis” - Grimes

If you frequent the music blogosphere as much as us, you’re well aware of a phenomenon involving new and rising stars. They come up unexpectedly and with such prominence across the board that it seems unusual. How good could this group really be? Is it that big of a deal? I feel that this skepticism is one of the biggest reasons people might avoid such bands and in the case of Grimes, I’m guilty of this…until now. While not the first album under Claire Boucher’s alias, the anticipation leading up to the release of Visions has been causing quite an uproar. “Genesis” is every reason to jump on the bandwagon. She’s already slated to play Primavera in May. Visions will be out in North America on February 21st and worldwide on March 12th.
