“Phalanx of Lenses” - Beau Navire

One thing I love about the underground punk and hardcore scenes: they approach life with the belief that you can never put out enough material. Splits, singles, 7”s, 10”s, and comps abound, with many bands releasing something every few months or so at the least. Beau Navire, for example, released two LPs last year, plus a number of splits and singles. They also happen to be in a number of other great bands (the same goes for Republic of Dreams), which somehow seems to be both impressive and, at this point, business as usual. Beau Navire’s releases have been rapidly improving, and this no exception - it’s fucking fantastic. [link]
