“Hysteria” - Ceremony
Is it my birthday? Yesterday, we got to hear David Lynch’s remix of Zola Jesus’s “In Your Nature.” Today, we finally get to hear a track off of the Ceremony’s upcoming full-length Zoo (their first on Matador). I gave a wrote a ratherglowing anticipatory blurb in our 2012 Albums feature [link], and I still stand by every word. “Hysteria” shows that Ceremony is continuing down the path we saw them going down in Rohnert Park, away from their powerviolence past. This track still rips, and I still have high hopes that it will be the premier hardcore (or just “heavy,” if you’re a stickler) album of 2012. “Hysteria” comes out as a 7” single backed with a cover of The Urinal’s “I’m A Bug” on February 7th [link]. Both Zoo [link] and the second single, album track “Adult” b/w non album track “Start Over [link], come out on March 6th. All of these are being released through Matador, and all those links will take you to where you can preorder them. I hate being broke. [link]
